The Ministry of Health hosted a delegation from the East African Health Research Commission (EAHRC), led by Deputy Executive Secretary Dr. Novat Twungubumwe. The primary focus of the meeting was to discuss preparations for the upcoming 10th International Scientific Conference, scheduled to take place in South Sudan next year in March 2025.

 

Honourable Yolanda Awel Deng, Minister of Health, expressed her confidence in the team’s ability to organize the conference, emphasizing its significance for the country. She highlighted the importance of establishing subcommittees under the national steering committee to streamline preparations.

 

"We are delighted to host the 10th International Scientific Conference," said Minister Deng. "This event will be a platform for knowledge sharing and collaboration in the health sector. We are committed to ensuring its success."

 

Dr. Novat Twungubumwe expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to meet with the Minister and acknowledged South Sudan’s nomination to host the conference. He stressed the importance of forming a dedicated national team to oversee the conference's organization.

 

"We are working closely with the Ministry of Health to ensure a successful conference," said Dr. Twungubumwe. "The conference will be a valuable opportunity to showcase South Sudan's health research and development."
