The Minister of Health, Hon. Sarah Cleto Rial, recently welcomed the newly appointed Warrap State Governor, H.E. Amb. Bol Wek Agoth, for a productive meeting focused on enhancing health services and state administration.
Discussions during the courtesy visit centered on strategies for bolstering health services, developing human resources, and empowering the Health Science Institute within Warrap State.
In a press statement, Minister Sarah Cleto reiterated the Ministry's steadfast commitment to supporting Warrap State. She highlighted plans to launch cholera oral vaccine (OCV) campaigns to prepare for the upcoming rainy season, which typically sees an increase in cholera cases. The Minister also emphasized the critical importance of collaboration with other government entities and partners to prevent disease outbreaks across the nation.
Governor Bol Wek provided insights into the challenging conditions faced by Warrap State. He noted that ongoing inter-communal and inter-state conflicts have led to substantial gaps in health services and limited access to essential supplies, including food and medicine. The Governor commended the Ministry's swift actions in addressing the recent cholera outbreak in the state and appealed for continued support and additional resources.
The meeting concluded with both leaders expressing appreciation and a commitment to mutual support, signaling a collaborative approach to improving public health in Warrap State.
